Beginnings...

Funny enough, as a kid I never wanted to travel, it was only until my trip to cambodia and living in  Germany and Japan that I developed a keen interest in travelling and so the journey begins!

So Christine and I have known each other for ages, but we only decided to start this blog after my trip to NYC, visiting Christine and seeing the Big apple. Last year early to Mid march is probably not the best weather to visit New York, but it sure has a lot to offer, even though its a bit crispy, but if you out looking for a new winter coat, then its a pretty good time to go!

If you love Japanese food- Momofuku is a great a place, and Ippudo Ramen, and after living in Japan good ramen is often hard to find:)

Lovely decor, friendly service and of course awesome and delicious food!

There's a lot of meat on the menu, especially pork (the time I went) so it meat or pork in particular isn't your thing then perhaps not the best choice.

Next time I go, I do have to try Momofuku Noodle bar- the pork buns and ramen are meant to be amazing!!! My trip was pretty short so I'm hoping I'll get to return here and check out all the places I missed the first time round.

If travelling on a budget, and not so keen on forking out the money to check out Statue of Liberty, Statten Island Ferry will give you a round trip and one brilliant view of Liberty!

You get off near Battery park which is pretty close to century 21 and the freedom tower, which wasn't open when I went. If you like shopping than century 21 is definitely the place to go. I think there's two one near the freedom tower, and one close to columbus circle, but it might have moved, but if you like brands and sales then you'll love it!

On this trip I did get to spend the weekend in Washington DC, I actually had no idea how much it had to offer until I was actually there. All the Jeffersonian museums are free and interactive, we were meant to visit more than in one day, but I'm pretty sure we all got caught up in the space one until it closed. The botanic gardens are also definitely worth a look,  and the national zoo it's free! You don't have to pay $28 to see pandas!! Amazing.....

Of course we also did go to the monument and the memorial. Unfortunately because it was so cold, the was no water in the reflecting pool, but we got a few good shots of the monument without it.

One of my favourite places in NYC I'd have to say is the Chelsea Markets, its a bit up market for a market, but the first day I went there it was light up, so it made all the more magical. Also the clam chowder, and seafood is pretty fresh so it makes it a good place to get some food and snacks when on the move!

I think next time I visit New York I'd love to go in the Summer/Spring, Christine tells me there heaps of festivals and stuff to check out. :) So New York 'till next time! In addition I spent a lot of the time just roaming the streets and wondering around the buildings, there was just so much to see, and so little time!

Intro

Christine

So this page is for Michelle and I to record our adventures through the planet Earth, post pics, and reveal our findings. We're two friends living in opposite sides of the world; I currently reside in the great city of New York, and Michelle lives in Adelaide, Australia.
The game plan: Each time one of us goes somewhere, update this blog on awesome things we've seen and done.

Since this is my post, I'll introduce myself a bit then. Was born in Australia (where I apparently met Michelle as a baby...) and raised in New York. Apparently I've been traveling since I was in the womb, and have never really stopped since, so it's about time a blog was started to record all these places I guess!

That's about it then. Adventures coming up soon!
